Using the Dropmark Browser Extension

Using our browser extension is the quickest way to add links, images, and full-page screenshots to your Dropmark collections straight from your favorite web browser.

Once you’ve downloaded the browser extension, you should see a little Dropmark icon in the menu bar of your preferred browser. To add something to Dropmark from the web press the icon and choose how you want to add the item from three options: add page, grab image and screenshot.

Add page

This creates a link in your Dropmark collection. You can scroll through the site’s images to generate a thumbnail for the link, or leave it blank and Dropmark will generate a site preview for the thumbnail. You can enter a title, description, add tags, or add to a stack before you click ‘Add to Dropmark’. Then you’ll get a lovely little notification to say that the item has been added successfully, and give you the option to ‘Open in Dropmark’, so you can easily click through to the collection, or carry on browsing the internet.

Grab image

With the Dropmark browser extension, you can save an image from the web, and it’ll stay in your collection even if it is removed from the webpage, so you can continue to lust after a pair of shoes that cost six months rent for years, despite them selling out in 2 hours.

To grab an image from a webpage click on the Dropmark browser extension and choose ‘Grab image’. You can then click through the images on the webpage using the arrows until you find the shot you want to save. Tip: you can also use your arrows on your keyboard once you’ve clicked on the image field once.

You can also grab images on sites by dragging any image on a site till the Dropmark icon appears in the right side. Drop the image into the Dropmark logo and a pop-up will appear.

When you are ready to save the image you can enter a title, description, add tags, or add to a stack before you click ‘Add to Dropmark’. Then you’ll get a lovely little notification to say that the item has been added successfully, and give you the option to ‘Open in Dropmark’ or ‘Add another’. If you want you can click 'Add another' and save as many shots as you like from the same webpage, plus it’ll remember any tags you used, so you’re not wasting your time inputting all that data again.

Screenshot

With the browser extension, you can choose to take a full page screenshot of a website for future reference. This is great for saving websites as design inspiration because a screenshot won’t change even if the website does!

To take a full page screenshot click on the browser extension and choose ‘Screenshot’. Once Dropmark has created the screenshot you can enter a title, description, add tags, or add to a stack before you click ‘Add to Dropmark’. Then you’ll get a notification to say that the item has been added successfully.
