Creating playlists & podcasts
Dropmark can handle pretty much any media you could think to upload. Websites, photos, documents, text - but things get interesting when you add audio or video to the mix.
Audio playlists
You can create a collaborative playlist using Dropmark and SoundCloud that can be accessed from anywhere.
Simply add the link from SoundCloud to your collection like you would any other link. Dropmark will embed the track and pull in the cover art for you. Edit and rearrange your playlist however you like. Once you’re happy with it, click play, and enjoy. Dropmark will automatically advance to the next track and play your entire mix.
You can also drag in your MP3s right from your desktop. Dropmark will even grab the album artwork from its ID3 tags. Dropmark will support and play any audio format your browser understands; we recommend using MP3 for the best compatibility across devices.
Because Dropmark is all about collaboration, you can invite friends and colleagues to contribute and remix your playlist. Take a look at our demo audio playlist and create yours today.
Instant podcasts
Dropmark collections are also podcast-friendly. Upload a few audio files, and you can instantly have a podcast that people can subscribe to using iTunes.
Just copy the URL of your collection and paste in iTunes under Advanced > Subscribe to Podcast. If your collection is private, iTunes will ask for your e-mail address and password to subscribe.
Video playlists
Both Youtube and Vimeo already let you create playlists, but with Dropmark, you can mix the two and create the ultimate video mashup.
Stitch together some videos from YouTube spliced with videos from Vimeo and create a collaborative music video playlist or a quick demo reel. With Dropmark you can get the best of the YouTube and Vimeo communities in one place
To add a video to your playlist, you can either add the URL like a regular web link, drag and drop or add the page with the browser extension and Dropmark will embed the video and pull in the cover art for you.
You can also upload your videos - just drag them into the collection from your desktop. We recommend using MP4 files for the best compatibility across all devices. However, Dropmark will support and play any video type recognized by your browser.
As with any collection, videos can be rearranged and mixed however you like. Once you’re happy with your collection, press play and enjoy. For the best experience, put your browser in full-screen mode. Dropmark will continue playing each video one after another, so you can sit back and take it all in. Get bored? Skip back or ahead using your keyboard’s left and right arrows.
As always, you can invite your friends and colleagues to view and collaborate, or make your playlist public and share it with the world. Take a look at our demo video playlist and create your own today.
