Dropmark for BBCode [img] links?

Crick May 14, 2012 07:32PM EDT

I attempted to use a Dropmark image link in a BBCode post [img] tag. The post does not render the image. Link is http://crick.dropmark.com/55277/613440. Form of BBCode was [img]http://crick.dropmark.com/55277/613440[/img].

Am I doing something wrong or is Dropmark not compatible with BBCode?

Hi Crick,

You'll want to get the URL to the image itself. To grab that, click the action button in the top right of the page when viewing the image. You should get a CDN link that looks something like this:

http://cdn.dropmark.com/1/fb4a79ededea5553ec3f0147f8b146d790d84cd2/Screen%20Shot%202012-03-10%20at%208.51.13%20AM.png

With that, you should be able to inset that into your BBCode like so:

[img]http://cdn.dropmark.com/1/fb4a79ededea5553ec3f0147f8b146d790d84cd2/Screen%20Shot%202012-03-10%20at%208.51.13%20AM.png[/img]

Thanks,

Skylar

One needs to obtain the actual png link and use it. In this case, the link is http://cdn.dropmark.com/30177/61d2b7e7df11cb9a41d54fca33c714b393e41027/Screen%20Shot%202012-05-14%20at%204.03.50%20PM.png

One can get this link in Firefox by right-clicking and selecting Copy link location.

Then create the BBCode image command:

Thanks for your answer Skylar (didn't see it until I posted an answer to my own question).

Using Firefox 12.0.1, I do not see an action button in the top right of the page when viewing images. This is probably the genesis of the challenge as I thought there would be something much more intuitive (like an action button) than using right-clicks to capture the image URL.

This what I have in the right hand corner of my screen: http://cdn.dropmark.com/30177/7f861e2be0b6604d08efd9cea43716b61e66113b/Screen%20Shot%202012-05-14%20at%209.19.10%20PM.png
when viewing image http://crick.dropmark.com/55277/613809

Maybe the action button shows up in other browsers.

Hi Crick,

The button I'm referring to is visible in your screenshot between your avatar and the < and > buttons.

Thanks!

Skylar
